Lots of news for the Ice Master World Cup… such as the new fixed structure

DAONE VALLEY (TRENTINO), 16^TH DECEMBER 2010 – Feverish preparations are under way in Daone Valley for the 10^th edition of  the Ice Master that this year will be very innovative. Since 2011 the athletes of the famous World Cup competition will climb on a  fixed structure, built during last summer in Limes, one hundred metres distant from the mobile competition area of the last years.

This innovative structure consist of  three huge tubular cages fixed by the “Carpenteria Giudicariese building firm on three reinforced concrete blocks covered with recycled plastic panels in green tones in order to better adapt to the suggestive Daone valley landscape.

The 10^th edition of the most famous ice climbing competition in the world (Ice Master World Cup) will take place from Friday 14^th to Sunday 16th January 2011. The decennial is a very important goal that deserves the very big investment for the new fixed structure which includes some service rooms such as a newsroom, a stock room and a place for the timekeepers and the judges. All that in order to improve the excellent organization of the last years.

For the 10^th time Daone has been officially chosen by the UIIA to be an important stage in the Ice Climbing World Cup Tour, thanks to the flawless organization of the event by the chairman Romolo Ghezzi and his volunteers and the skills of the engineer Maurizio Gallo in building the climbing walls. 

Even this year, thanks to the excellent organizing level, the International Federation has put the Comitato Pareti di Cristallo in charge of  two World Cup competitions in a unique weekend: the lead  and the speed competitions. The definitive programme will be available in a couple of weeks, when also the structure will be completed.

In particular this one will be the 2nd of six world cup competition of the Ice Master. The circuit will start in Chongsong, Korea^thDaone, Italy (15-16^th January), in Saas Fee, Switzerland (22-23rd January), in Busteni, Romania (5-6^thKirov, Russia (6-8^th January), then will be set in February) and finally in (8-9 March) in conjunction with the world championships.

Even this year there will be some events that let athletes, spectators and tourists try ice climbing on the several natural waterfalls of Daone Valley organized by La Sportiva International Ice Meeting Pareti di Cristallo from 15^th to 16^th January 2011. A chance not to be missed for those who want to learn some more about climbing in a wonderful landscape. This one will be the 13^th edition of the most important Italian ice climbing happening.

On Saturday night will also be organised the suggestive “Ciaspolada” a walk with snowshoes on “Le Brume” track open to all and during the event come and have fun near the competition area, in the snow Park that, after the great success of the last year,  will be back again.
