COMPETITION PROGRAM 2008 UP-DATE

Today start  the Ice Master World Cup, it's all set in Valle di Daone for the seven edition of the great international ice climbing event. Is time to describe same news about the competition program.

COMPETITION PROGRAM 2008

FRIDAY 18th JANUARY
IN THE MORNING: Qualifications Difficulty - Men
Characteristics of the competition: 2 groups on two different routes, 9 athletes per group enter the semifinal= 18 athletes + possible equals
Timing of the athletes during the competition:

6' competition + 1' transfer + 6' break
- h 8,45 am meeting at the competition area with the equipment necessary for the competition
- h 9,00 am technical briefing at the tent

- h 10,00 am end of technical briefing
- h 10,15 am route preview
- h 10,30 am isolation at the ‘Teatro' tent (athlete's area)
- h 11,00 am beginning of the competition

- h 6,30 pm placing of the athletes for the official opening ceremony and parade at the competition area
- h 7,00 pm official opening ceremony at the Ice Climbing Stadium with presentation of authorities, athletes and friends

- h 8,00 pm fireworks

- h 8,30 pm free evening meal at the Ice Master outdoor village

SATURDAY 19th JANUARY

IN THE MORNING: Semifinals Difficulty - Men
Characteristics of the competition: 2 different routes - 8 athletes enter the finals + possible equals

Timing of the athletes during the competition: 6'/7' competition + 1' transfer + 6'/7' break
- h 8,30 am opening of the isolation area
- h 8,45 am closing of the isolation area
- h 9,00 am route preview
- h 9,30 am beginning of the competition

IN THE MORNING:

Qualifications and semifinals Speed - Women
- h 10,00 am demonstration
- h 10,15 am beginning of the competition
- h 11,45 am end of the competition - 4 finalists remain

IN THE AFTERNOON:

Qualifications Difficulty - Women

- h 6,00 pm Finals Speed - Men and Women (4 athletes for each category)

- h 7,00 pm Evening meal at the outdoor village

- h 8,30 pm Mountain songs with Daone "Re di Castello" Chorus

- h 9,00 pm conference with Olympic Champion Manuela di Centa and Fabio Meraldi

- h 10,15 closing with Storo "Valchiese" Chorus

SUNDAY 20th JANUARY
IN THE MORNING: Finals Difficulty - Women
